How To Get Rid Of Slugs In The Garden

My pepper plant has been producing wonderful green peppers.  The only problem is that when I go to pick them,  there are holes in my peppers surrounded by slime.  I suspect slugs are doing this!

I spoke to a lady who has been gardening for 70 years and she told me to put a small saucer with sides about one-inch tall on the ground near the plant stem and fill it with beer.

Slugs are attracted to the beer, but they cannot get out of the saucer when they are done.

I am going to try putting a saucer of beer out after dinner tonight.  Wish me luck!
